A Prayer of Illumination for Easter

by Mark Roeda on March 26, 2009

Lord God,

Your Word is life;
we are merely punctuation.
Do not allow apathy to ball us up into periods,
Or skepticism to bend us into a question marks.
Instead,
as with Mary at the tomb,
as with Thomas in the locked room,
may an encounter with your gospel
stretch us into holy exclamation points
giving you glory and praise.
In Jesus’ name, the Word made flesh.
Amen.
