We begin our time together each week with a “Call to Worship”. It’s a moment where we hear God’s word as an invitation to gather together and worship him. It’s also an acknowledgment that worship starts with God: it’s a conversation where he reveals himself, and we react with the only appropriate response: to worship him.
Let’s begin with these words from the Psalms. Stand with me:
“Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.”
What did God do to help us?
God chose the people of Israel to make a new beginning.
They received God’s covenant and prepared the way
for Jesus to come as our Savior.
Let us worship the God of the covenant, the God of heaven and earth.
