Our God wants us to worship him throughout our lives, but our days are filled with opportunities to worship everything else – money, celebrities, politicians, and our favorite gods, ourselves. Let’s acknowledge that together and pray for forgiveness.
Merciful God,
You offer us blessings and joy,
and yet we chase idols – worshipping everything but you.
Forgive us for our worship of idols,
our worship of status, and opinion,
of possessions, and money,
of our own evil desires.
Teach us how to lives of unceasing worship,
where we love and honor you as much at home
and at work as we do amongst our church family.
Help us cast down our idols
and live only for you, our God and our King.
