Lord God, our rock and our refuge,
Help us in our weakness.
Chase out those evil desires than drain us and strengthen our feet to walk in the way of your commandments.
May your grace and mercy triumph when our selfish efforts fail.
Give us power to live as your children in all our actions, and to exercise sonship by conquering self. Renew our faith by showing us your Glorious face. Amen.

I’m puzzled by the title, though. Where is the “confession” here? It is a prayer for assistance, is it not. It is couched in language of weakness, but I’m not sure this is “confession” — not as I understand it, at any rate!
