Lord, we know that you are a warrior, and we cry out to you because we’re surrounded on all sides by our enemies. Help us to turn our eyes to heaven, to trust in your protection, and to join in the fight against Satan, sin and death.
We look with hope for the day that when we see you crush your enemies,
when the church is free from the attacks of the evil one,
and when we enter the rest you’ve give us
through the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Forgive us when we fail to fight,
and forgive us when we fight against you.
Take our hearts and minds captive with your grace,
and renew us in the image of your Son.
