God’s Assurance based on Romans 8:34; 2 Corinthians 5:17
Do you ever lament all the bad news you see on the evening news?
I found a blog recently dedicated entirely to good news.
Here are some of the headlines:
Toddler Survives 18 Minutes Under Water
Hero Saves Woman; Anonymous Donor Pays His Medical Bill
There’s An Award Section,
where they give out “You Made a Difference” Awards
There’s even a section on Miracles:
Mother of One, Expected to Die, Makes Full Recovery
In a world marred by bad news, it is dedicated to good news.
I wonder:
How would you write the headlines of your own life?
How many headlines would be dedicated to bad news
and how many to good news?
How does the good news of the gospel
trump all the other news in your life?
Even the horrible news?
Paul writes some pretty bold headlines in his letters.
This good news applies to all of us:
Christ died for us.
Christ rose for us.
Christ reigns in power of us.
Christ prays for us.
Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation.
The old life has gone; a new life has begun.
Friends in Christ, be reminded that the headlines of your life
are dominated by the good news
that in Jesus Christ you are forgiven
and you have a future and a hope.
Know this and be at peace.

nicely done, Joel.
Thank you, Joel, for this great connection between news in our media and the News of the Gospel. I hope to use it soon at Telkwa!
