Today is Baptism Sunday here at Sojourn where we get a visual picture of the salvation that is found in Christ Jesus. Christ came, lived a perfect life and died the death that we as sinners should have faced. It is at the cross where God meets us, redeems us and reshapes our broken lives. Let us begin today by recognizing our overwhelming need for a Savior, then let us celebrate because our God has saved us through the life, death and resurrection of His son Jesus. Stand and read with me:
The proof of God’s amazing love is this:
While we were sinners, Christ died for us.
Because we have faith in him,
we dare to approach God with confidence,
trusting that God will forgive our sin
and cleanse us from every kind of wrong.
