It’s a crazy thing we’re asking for when we gather. We’re not just expecting to encounter God’s people, and we’re not just expecting to hear God’s word… We’re expecting to experience the presence of God himself in our midst. Before we take any more steps into worship together, let’s just pause and ask ourselves: do we believe that? Do we believe that God is in our midst?Do we believe that we’ll encounter and experience him?
That’s the invitation the scriptures give us.
Let’s hear God’s word:
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
- Hebrews 4:16
As we gather today, let’s be bold and confident in our expectations. Let’s believe that God is in our midst and is ready to pour out mercy and grace into our desperate lives.
