Prayer of Invocation from Isaiah 55

God of Abraham, Isaiah, and James,

God of Ruth, Deborah, and Mary:

As you send rain and snow from the heavens to water the earth, making things grow and blossom, and producing food for the hungry – make the nourishing Word of God fall on us in this place. May that word accomplish what you desire, and achieve the purpose for which you send it. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
