Call to Worship - God’s door is open

by Jamie Barnes on October 27, 2009

A lot of times you and I are choosy about who we let in our front door. Maybe we make our friends take their muddy shoes off before they walk all over our precious floors, or we put plastic over the furniture when our slobby bachelor buddies come over. Perhaps we don’t invite certain people in at all because of our preferences. God is not like that. He invites us in despite our messy, sinful lives – He welcomes us as we are, cleans us up and wants us to be at home with Him forever. Stand with me and hear His word:

I have called you back from the ends of the earth, from every dark corner saying,
‘You are my servant.’
For I have chosen you
and will not throw you away.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
-Isaiah 41:9-10

Lets lift our voices in song in response to God’s great invitation.
