Life can be totally overwhelming. Each of us could stand up here and tell stories that would break our hearts. It’s enough to cause us to despair, and for many it does. Many of you are here today in a place of great need and desperation, and many others have been there before. Thankfully, God doesn’t abandon us. He meets us right now, right where we are, and he invites us to worship him in the midst of suffering, and gives us the words to cry out to him.
Stand with me and read:
To the Lord we cry out
and He answers from His holy hill.
We lie down to sleep and wake again
because the Lord sustains us.
We will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against us on every side
Arise O Lord and deliver us.
Break the teeth of our enemy.
Our Help comes from God
and His blessing clothes His people.
