Lord God,
We have turned our backs on You.
We blinded our eyes to the hope in the Cross of Jesus.
We have not learned from His life or His death.
We have not sacrificially loved others as He loved us.
We have not emptied ourselves like He emptied Himself.
We have not humbled ourselves and submitted to your will as He did when He carried out Your plan to save the world.
Lord we are sheep that have wondered away from our Shepherd.
Forgive us for forsaking your leadership and leaving your care.
Forgive us for trying to find our own way through life.
Give us eyes to see the beauty and glory of your Son Jesus.
May we find new life in His death. Amen.
