Father, our faith is often far from a living thing.
Forgive us for professing to live by faith, while in reality, trusting in and clinging to material things and people for our security.
Forgive us for worshipping idols, for worshipping created things rather than our Creator.
Forgive us for growing comfortable and complacent with evil, allowing our minds to be conformed to and shaped by the ways of this world rather than by your word.
Forgive us for believing and spreading lies rather than truth. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear your truth. Lead our hearts back to the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let’s continue this prayer together:
How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house,
letting them drink from your rivers of delight.
For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see. Amen
