Our lack of compassion for others often comes from our lack of understanding of God’s great love toward us. Jesus’ blood canceled a debt we could never pay back. Now we are free to lead lives of love, thankfulness and mercy as the church. Say this with me:
Now we are no longer strangers and foreigners.
We are citizens along with all of God’s holy people, members of God’s family.
Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets.
And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
