Mike Cosper is the Pastor of Worship and Arts at Sojourn Community Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Sojourn was planted in 2000 in one of Louisville’s urban neighborhoods and seeks to practice the historic rhythms of Christian worship in a fresh, contextualized, and comprehensible way for both insiders (those who have been in the church for many years) and outsiders (those who are new to life in the church).

In addition to seeking worship renewal through liturgical renewal, Pastor Mike also oversees Sojourn’s music and visual arts ministry. Sojourn Music has released 6 CD’s, including the critically acclaimed Before the Throne.

Outside of Sojourn, Mike has served as a session and touring guitarist with Bill Mallonee, Dirt Poor Robins, Peter Searcy, and other artists. He has been married to his wife, Sarah, since they were both 19. He has one daughter, Dorothy, and his second daughter, Margaret, is due in April.

Nathan Bierma is communications and research coordinator for the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship and occasional liturgist at Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Nathan has a passion for language and linguistics and wrote the “On Language” column for the Chicago Tribune from 2004-2008. A collection of these columns will be published in 2009 as The Eclectic Encyclopedia of English.

Nathan’s is also author of Bringing Heaven Down to Earth: Connecting This Life to the Next. His website is www.nathanbierma.com. Nathan and his wife Andrea have a 1-year-old son, Benjamin.
